A total of 29 students from Jagannath University (JnU) have been initially nominated for the prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal across four academic years from 2022 to 2025.
Seven students each have been selected for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024, while eight students have been nominated for 2025.
The list of nominees was announced in a notification issued on Sunday, signed by the university’s Acting Registrar Professor Md Sheikh Giash Uddin.
According to the official notice, the initially nominated students must submit all required documents to the university authorities by 1 October during office hours.
Nominees are instructed to submit two sets of hard copies of the Prime Minister Gold Medal nomination form, obtainable from the University Grants Commission (UGC) website or attached to the notification, completed in accordance with the provided guidelines.
Submission process and required documents
Candidates are required to submit a self-signed testimonial, two recent passport-size photographs, attested copies of all educational qualification certificates, mark sheets, transcripts or grade sheets, and a copy of their National ID card (NID).
All documents must be properly attested and submitted to the University Registrar’s Office through the Director of the concerned Institute or the Chairman of the respective Department.
In addition, soft copies of all required documents must be sent in PDF format to the designated email address.
Nominees list
The seven students nominated for the year 2022 are Saddam Hossain, Rumana Siddiqua Marufa, Ayesha Akter, Rokeya Parvin, Md Billal Hossain, Jannatul Ferdous Proma, and Muztaniba Jahan Mashraka. For 2023, nominees are Md Anwar Shah, Sarmin Akter, Sadia Jannat Mitu, Joy Paul, Mst. Sumona Akter, Tanzum Ahmed Nudi, and Tasnima Akter.
For 2024, nominees are Ariful Islam, Asma Akter, Muhammad Golam Rohman Shafi, Sadia Khanam, Ragib Shahriar Rafi, Jannatun Naher Urmi, and Md Muhib Ahsan Chowdhury.
The eight nominees for 2025 are Somaiya Tabassum, Faria Akter Eva, Shanjida Sarmin Mouri, Dipanwita Baidya, Anika Tabassum Antora, Abha Rahman, Bidisha Adhikary, and Faria Yasmin.
In accordance with the UGC guidelines for the Prime Minister Gold Medal application, the submission process is divided into three distinct steps: Student Information, Academic Performance and Attachments, and Review and Final Submission.
Applicants also have the option to save their applications as drafts and complete the submission process at a later time.
