Recreation centres across the capital are fully prepared to welcome visitors during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. Authorities expect a large turnout over the seven-day vacation.
Officials concerned said parks, amusement centres and major tourist attractions in Dhaka will remain open during Eid. Special arrangements and security measures are in place to ensure safe and comfortable visits for holidaymakers.
Popular destinations include Bangladesh National Zoo, National Botanical Garden, Ramna Park, Suhrawardy Udyan, Dhanmondi Lake, Hatirjheel, Lalbagh Fort, Ahsan Manzil, Fantasy Kingdom and Nandan Park.
Authorities at the National Zoo said renovation and beautification works have already been completed ahead of Eid. These include road repairs and activation of CCTV cameras.
The zoo is expected to receive between 100,000 and 150,000 visitors during the holidays. It will remain open daily from 9am to 6pm.
To manage crowds, 14 ticket booths and multiple entry lines have been arranged. Law enforcement agencies will maintain strict security at major recreation centres across the capital.
Meanwhile, Shyamoli Shishu Mela will remain open from 10am to 10pm during the first seven days of the Eid holidays. Hatirjheel authorities have also kept circular bus and water bus services ready for visitors.
Lalbagh Fort in Old Dhaka is among the country’s most popular tourist sites. It will remain open from 10am to 6pm, with the entry fee fixed at Tk20.
Buriganga Eco Park, built on nearly seven acres of land in Shyampur on the outskirts of the capital, offers visitors a quiet escape from the city’s busy life.
Ahsan Manzil, located on the bank of the Buriganga River in Islampur, stands as a symbol of Mughal-era heritage. The museum will remain open from 10:30am to 5:30pm.
Officials of different recreation centres expressed optimism that the venues will witness large crowds throughout the Eid holidays.
