Indian singer and rapper Badshah has reportedly received a death threat from individuals linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, following backlash over his latest song ‘Tateeree’. The track has drawn criticism for allegedly containing offensive references to women and minors.
A Facebook post attributed to the gang warned Badshah, referring to a 2024 incident outside one of his nightclubs in Haryana: “We showed you the trailer in your club in 2024; next time we will shoot you directly in the head,” it stated.
The threat coincides with legal scrutiny. The Haryana State Commission for Women has directed police to arrest Badshah after he failed to appear before the panel by the March 6 deadline to address complaints about the song’s lyrics and visuals.
Authorities noted that the 2024 nightclub incident involved low-intensity explosions outside two venues, causing minor damage but no injuries.
Police identified the devices as crude bombs thrown by two men on a motorcycle and CCTV footage captured the event.
