Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw and actor-influencer Akriti Agarwal have reconciled weeks after announcing that they had called off their engagement.
According to Hindustan Times, Agarwal confirmed their reunion in an Instagram statement on Monday, 12 October, admitting that the opinions of people close to her had influenced her decision to end the relationship.
In a note titled “A personal clarification”, she said she had allowed others to shape how she viewed Shaw and their relationship.
She described herself as “misguided” and said the decision had been made without the honest conversation they deserved.
Agarwal also took responsibility for the decision and the hurt it caused. She said the couple had since spoken openly, understood each other better and chosen to be together again.
She added that they wanted their future to be guided by their own understanding, trust and love, while asking people to respect their decision.
Shaw and Agarwal announced their engagement in March 2026. However, they confirmed their separation in September, saying they had decided to part ways amid different goals and circumstances.
Speculation about a possible rift had surfaced earlier after Agarwal shared cryptic social media posts, though she later clarified that one of the posts was not about Shaw.
Agarwal has appeared in the Telugu film Trimukha, while Shaw is an Indian cricketer who previously captained the national Under-19 team to victory at the 2018 World Cup.
The couple have not announced a new wedding date, choosing instead to give their relationship another chance.
