Rakhi Sawant has once again spoken in support of Sunita Ahuja amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her marriage to veteran actor Govinda and reports of his alleged closeness to actress Komal Rani Swarnkar.
Speaking to paparazzi, Rakhi questioned Govinda over his reported equation with Komal and criticised him for allegedly neglecting Sunita, his wife of nearly four decades. She also referred to Komal as a “pati chor”, or husband stealer.
“Govinda ji, pura desh naaraz hai aapse,” Rakhi said, claiming that Sunita had stood by the actor for 40 years and was the mother of his two children. She then questioned Govinda about Komal, whose name has repeatedly surfaced amid speculation about the actor’s personal life.
Rakhi also accused Komal of making remarks about her and other members of the film industry. She warned the actress not to “mess” with her, adding that she was not Sunita and would respond strongly if provoked.
The controversy surrounding Govinda and Komal intensified in recent months after the two were reportedly spotted together at public places, including Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja celebrations. Neither Govinda nor Komal has publicly confirmed that they are in a relationship.
The latest remarks also come after Sunita made claims about Govinda and Komal during a phone conversation with Rakhi in August. Sunita reportedly alleged that the two had been planning to marry, though the claim has not been independently established.
Sunita had earlier filed for divorce from Govinda in 2024, citing adultery, cruelty and desertion, according to reports. She later withdrew the petition, but the couple’s marital issues have continued to attract public attention.
Rakhi has remained vocal in her support for Sunita throughout the controversy. She previously advised her to protect her financial interests and has repeatedly urged her to prioritise herself amid the ongoing dispute.
Meanwhile, Komal has reportedly denied being responsible for the problems in Govinda and Sunita’s marriage, saying her name has been unnecessarily dragged into their personal issues.
As the controversy continues, Govinda, Sunita and Komal remain at the centre of intense public and media scrutiny.
