Dhallywood is looking beyond its familiar Eid formula as filmmakers prepare a diverse slate for 2027, bringing together star-driven commercial films, romance, action, mystery and even science fiction.
At the centre of the upcoming lineup is Shakib Khan, who will headline two major projects. Himel Ashraf’s ‘Mohabbat’, produced by Arshad Adnan, is targeting Eid-ul-Azha and has already unveiled a poster hinting at a romance wrapped in action and mystery.
Shakib will also star in ‘Nissho’, directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, opposite Kolkata actress Idhika Paul, for a planned Eid-ul-Fitr release.
Raihan Rafi’s ‘Andhar’, featuring Siam Ahmed, Chanchal Chowdhury and Nazifa Tushi, has a confirmed date of 26 March, coinciding with Independence Day.
The lineup also ventures into less familiar territory. Taneem Rahman Angshu’s ‘Limbo’ will explore science fiction and cosmic romance, while Tanim Noor’s ‘Mojnu Enterprise’ is being developed for theatres.
Arshad Adnan’s ‘Naseeb’ rounds out the announced Eid projects, suggesting that 2027 could bring a broader mix of stories to Bangladeshi cinemas.
