The directives were issued under the instruction of central committee President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

They were directed to appear in person at the central office within 48 hours in the presence of President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir to submit written explanations as to why permanent organisational disciplinary action should not be taken against them for breaching discipline while holding responsible posts.

The central action follows an incident on Sunday night when a group of JCD activists led by RU unit Vice-President Ahsan Habib assaulted journalists in front of Ziaur Rahman Hall. Around 10 people were injured in the attack, including four journalists.

The injured journalists are Arifuzzaman Korban, University Correspondent for bdnews24.com; Jahidul Islam, Representative for Agamir Samay; Noor Ahsan Mridul, Representative for The Daily Star; and Mainul Islam Raju, Representative for Dainik Samakal.
