Acclaimed filmmaker Raihan Rafi received the Starship Inspiring Ten 2025 award. The award recognises his impact on Bangladesh’s cultural landscape through contemporary filmmaking.
The ceremony took place at the ballroom of Hotel Sheraton in Banani, Dhaka. Ten young achievers from different fields also received recognition for their contributions to society.
Each award recipient received a gold medal, a certificate, and a cash prize of Tk 2 lakh. Rafi won in the filmmaking category. Oracle Bangladesh Country Managing Director Rubaba Dowla handed over the award.
After receiving the honour, Raihan Rafi called it deeply meaningful. He felt proud to be among young changemakers from diverse sectors. He highlighted sharing the stage with figures like educator Munjerin Shahid, footballer Rituparna Chakma, entrepreneur Mustafa Al Momin, and Murshidul Alam Bhuiyan, founder of Team Bhairat.
Raihan Rafi is widely regarded as one of the most influential young directors in Bangladesh today. He began his film career with Poramon 2. He quickly established himself with commercially successful projects that drew wide attention.
So far, he has directed seven feature films; additionally, he created around a dozen films and series for OTT platforms.
His most recent theatrical release, Taandob, received a strong audience response. Amimansit marked his latest OTT release. He recently wrapped shooting for Andhar. He is now working on Pressure Cooker, a women-centric film that explores contemporary social issues.
