Pubali Bank PLC has held a discussion meeting in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria, to encourage businesses and customers to adopt cashless transactions through digital payment channels and QR code-based payments.

The meeting, organised by the bank’s Ashuganj branch on Tuesday at the local Government Labour Welfare Centre, focused on expanding digital transactions and reducing dependence on cash payments.

Speakers at the event highlighted that cashless transactions could help reduce financial irregularities, lower transaction risks and improve efficiency in the country’s payment ecosystem. They urged businesses and customers to use digital platforms and QR codes for everyday transactions.

Pubali Bank Habiganj Regional Office Deputy General Manager and Regional Head Sambaru Chandra Mohanta attended the event as the chief guest, while Pubali Bank Ashuganj Branch Head and Assistant General Manager Bhuiya Al Mahiuddin chaired the session.

Representatives from business and civil society organisations, along with bank officials, also attended the discussion. They included Integrated Cultural Development Centre President Mohammad Alamgir Kabir, Brahmanbaria District Journalists Union President Salim Parvez, businessman Mohammad Shah Alam, Pubali Bank Bhairab Bazar Branch Head Majedul Islam, Sarail Bazar Sub-branch Head Mohammad Mohsin, Brahmanbaria Bhadughar Sub-branch Head Mohammad Saiful Islam and businessman Abu Kawsar.

During the programme, Pubali Bank distributed QR code crests to seven customers and encouraged other customers to collect QR codes from the bank to facilitate digital payments.
