The Dhaka Range police have been instructed to strengthen intelligence-based operations to improve crime prevention and maintain law and order.
The monthly crime review meeting of the Dhaka Range for June was held at the DIG office conference room on Tuesday morning, chaired by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for Dhaka Range Md Iqbal Hossain.
The meeting reviewed the overall crime situation, law and order management, crime prevention activities and progress on key indicators across 13 districts under the Dhaka Range.
The DIG gave necessary directives to unit heads to ensure more effective, professional and people-friendly policing.
He stressed the need for coordinated and intelligence-driven operations to quickly investigate crimes, arrest accused persons, execute warrants and combat drugs, terrorism, juvenile gangs and other criminal activities.
The meeting was attended by RRF Commandant (Additional DIG) Rumana Akhter, Additional DIG (Administration and Finance) MA Jalil, Additional DIG (Crime Management) Md Saifuzzaman Faruqi, Additional DIG (Operations) Md Siddiqur Rahman, Tangail In-Service Training Centre Commandant Moha Imamur Rashid, Traffic Management Superintendent of Police (promoted to Additional DIG) Mohammad Sulaiman, senior officials of the Dhaka Range office, police superintendents of 13 districts and commandants of Madaripur and Gazipur In-Service Training Centres.
In his concluding remarks, DIG Iqbal Hossain urged officials to work with professionalism, sincerity and responsibility to improve the overall crime situation, ensure faster and quality police services, strengthen technology-based monitoring systems and enhance the effectiveness of coordinated operations.
