Pubali Bank PLC plans to raise $100 million through a green bond with a five-year tenure to support sustainable financing initiatives, the bank said in a disclosure to the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Thursday.

The decision was approved at a meeting of the bank’s board of directors held on Wednesday, according to the disclosure.

The proposed bond will follow the Green Bond Principles of the International Capital Market Association, guidelines of the International Finance Corporation and Bangladesh Bank’s Sustainable Finance Policy.

The issuance will require approval from relevant authorities and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The green bond forms part of the bank’s broader sustainable and green finance initiative aimed at supporting environmentally responsible investment projects.

Perpetual bond coupon set at 10 per cent

Pubali Bank also informed the Dhaka Stock Exchange that the coupon rate of its Pubali Bank Perpetual Bond will be 10 per cent per annum for the next semi-annual coupon period.

The revised rate will apply from March 23, 2026 to September 22, 2026, according to the disclosure.
