The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday reaffirmed its commitment to Bangladesh as Resident Representative Maxym Kryshko pledged full cooperation during a meeting with Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman.
The courtesy call took place at Bangladesh Bank, where discussions were held in a professional and collaborative atmosphere, according to a press release.
Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Md Habibur Rahman was also present at the meeting.
During the session, the IMF representative congratulated the governor and expressed the organisation’s intention to maintain a supportive and productive relationship with the country’s central bank.
Kryshko also shared the IMF’s positive outlook on Bangladesh’s governance, saying the organisation looks forward to working with the newly formed political government.
The statement follows the formation of the new administration after the recent national election.
The meeting marks a step in strengthening cooperation between the IMF and Bangladesh Bank as they work towards shared economic objectives.
