A prisoner has died at Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj. The deceased has been identified as Mamun Sheikh, 34.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Camp In-Charge Inspector Md Faruk confirmed the matter. He stated that the body has been kept in the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
According to jail authorities, prison guards brought Mamun in unconscious state to the emergency department of DMCH at around 10:30am on Wednesday. Upon arrival, the doctor declared him dead.
However, detailed information regarding the cases filed against Mamun was not immediately available.
