Director Raihan Rafi has taken a new direction with ‘Pressure Cooker’, moving beyond his usual action-thriller fare to present a women-centric story.
The film, starring Shabnam Bubly, Nazifa Tushi, Snigdha Chowdhury and Mariya Shanto, has been steadily attracting audiences, with box office earnings showing a consistent upward trajectory.
According to Bangla Movie Review (BMR), Pressure Cooker earned Tk6.12 lakh on its opening day, rising to Tk11.04 lakh on the second day and Tk12.15 lakh on the third, bringing its total three-day revenue to Tk29.32 lakh.
BMR noted that the film experienced growth in multiplex screenings on the third day, fuelled in part by positive word-of-mouth. Of the 18 shows held across Star Cineplex (15) and Lion Cinemas (3), eight were sold out, with one near full capacity.
The steady performance indicates a growing interest in the film’s female-led storyline, signalling a warm reception from a section of the audience that is increasingly responding to diverse narratives in Dhallywood.
