Born Shamsunnahar Smrity in Satkhira, the girl who would become Pori Moni lost her mother at the age of three and grew up with her grandparents in Pirojpur. A shy child who learned dance at BAFA, she entered television before making her film debut in 2015 with ‘Bhalobasha Shimaheen’.
