Prime Minister Tarique Rahman departed from Kuala Lumpur for Dalian, China, this afternoon after concluding a two-day visit to Malaysia.
A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister left Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5pm local time on Monday.
The Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon confirmed the departure, noting that the prime minister will undertake a busy two-day programme in Dalian.
Following his engagements there, he will travel to the Chinese capital, Beijing, to begin the formal segments of his state visit.
While in Dalian, Tarique is scheduled to participate in annual conference of World Economic Forum. The prime minister was seen off at Bunga Raya Complex’s exclusive VIP terminal at Kuala Lumpur International Airport by Malaysian Minister of Religious Affairs Zulkifli Hasan.
Also in attendance were Bangladesh High Commissioner Manjurul Karim, and Deputy High Commissioner Shahanara Monica. Tarique had arrived in Malaysia last Sunday for his two-day visit.
