Paltan Model Thana Police have recovered 50 lost mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners.
The handsets were handed over to the owners on Monday during a ceremony held at the Paltan Model Thana conference room.
The event was attended by the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Motijheel Zone, Hussain Muhammad Farabi, and the officer-in-charge of Paltan Model Thana, alongside other officials.
According to sources, the police conducted operations across various parts of the country from 1 February to 28 February to track the devices.
The recoveries were made using information technology following General Diaries (GDs) filed by the respective owners.
Under the directives of higher authorities, AC Farabi and ASI Iqbal Hossain of Paltan Model Thana played active roles in the recovery of the lost phones.
Police records further indicate that Paltan Model Thana has a strong track record in this regard, having recovered and returned more than 700 lost mobile phones to their owners over the past year.
The owners expressed their delight at receiving their phones within a short period and extended their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
