11-party alliance holds closing rally after long march in Ctg

Leaders and activists of 11-party alliance have started gathering at Laldighi field in Chattogram ahead of their long march and closing rally. Since the afternoon of Saturday, supporters have been heading towards the venue in processions.

Various cultural programmes have already commenced at the rally venue. Arriving activists are chanting slogans, and groups of supporters from far and wide are entering the field.

Leader of the Opposition and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Shafiqur Rahman is scheduled to attend the assembly as the chief guest. Oli Ahmad, one of the top leaders of 11-party alliance, will preside over the event.

Organisers have said top leaders of 11-party alliance will be present, and processions from different areas of the city are heading towards the venue.

Mohammad Ullah, assistant secretary of Chattogram Jamaat, said the long march convoy has crossed Mirsharai. He added that the rally is scheduled to begin after Asr prayers.

Meanwhile, heightened security measures have been put in place in and around Laldighi field. A search is being conducted at the rally venue using a dog squad.

Alongside this, additional members of law enforcement agencies have been deployed on key city roads and around the venue.

As the movement of activists near the venue has grown, public presence on the surrounding roads has also increased, with the entire area vibrant with various banners, festoons, and slogans.
