Bangladesh Under-23s cruised to a nine-wicket win over the Under-19s in the Game Development (GD) Trophy at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.

Chasing 190, the Under-23s reached 191 for one in 31.3 overs, with 111 balls to spare. The defeat ended the Under-19s’ winning run in their fourth match.

Openers Adil Bin Siddiq and Azizul Hakim put on 130 for the first wicket before Adil fell to Zarif Siam for 63 off 74 balls.

Azizul remained unbeaten on 74 from 79 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes, and added an unbroken 61 with captain Kalam Siddiqi to seal the win.

Earlier, the Under-19s were bowled out for 189 after opting to bat. Leg-spinner Shadhin Islam led the Under-23 attack with four for 19 from 10 overs, including 42 dot balls, while Mohiuddin Tarek took two for 36.

Zarif top-scored with 56, his second half-century of the tournament. Meherab Hasan Sizan provided late resistance with an unbeaten 33 off 36 balls, but the Under-19s could not build on their early progress.
