Light to moderate rain or temporary thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, are likely in many parts of Bangladesh’s eight divisions on Saturday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.
In its forecast valid until 6pm, the BMD noted that areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience rain or thundershowers.
Moderately heavy rainfall is also possible at some places across the country. Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.
For Dhaka and adjoining areas, the BMD’s six‑hour forecast from 7am predicted partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy skies, with rain or thundershowers possible. Winds are expected from the south and south‑east at 10 to 15 kilometres per hour. No significant change in daytime temperatures is anticipated.
Dhaka recorded 27.6°C at 6am Saturday, with relative humidity at 89 per cent. The capital’s minimum temperature was 27.4°C, while Friday’s maximum was 34°C.
No rainfall was recorded in the preceding 24 hours. Sunset in Dhaka is scheduled for 6:13pm, with sunrise tomorrow at 5:42am.
Meanwhile, the BMD confirmed that no warning signals have been issued for inland river ports. As a result, no cautionary signals are required nationwide between 5am and 1pm.
