Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha, has died on Thursday while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital. Alongside local news media, various international media outlets have prominently reported the news of Hadi’s death.
The news of Osman Hadi’s death was reported by Qatar-based news media Al Jazeera.
Their report stated, “Last year’s leader of the July mass uprising in Bangladesh, Osman Hadi, who was taken to Singapore for treatment after being shot, has died.”
Citing a statement from Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the media reported that despite the best efforts of doctors, Hadi could not be survived.
Deutsche Welle has also published news about Hadi. The German media outlet’s report stated, “The death of Osman Hadi was announced on Thursday evening. Protesters have demanded the arrest of Hadi’s killers.”
It was also mentioned in Deutsche Welle’s report that Hadi was a vocal critic of India.
British media BBC reported that protests have spread across Bangladesh following the death of Osman Hadi, a prominent leader of the July mass uprising that ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina. Another British media outlet, The Guardian, has also published this news.
