Controversial singer Mainul Ahsan Nobel has been arrested by Demra Police Station from the Battala area under Siddirganj Police Station in Narayanganj today (February 23). Inspector (Investigation) Murad Hossain of Demra Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
He said that an arrest warrant had been issued in Nobel’s name in connection with an old case. “When Demra Police Station was informed about this, the warrant was executed and Nobel, the main accused, was taken into custody. He is currently being processed to be sent to court,” Inspector Hossain added.
The case relates to allegations that Nobel kept a young victim in his studio for a day, promising to marry her. During this time, he allegedly pressured the victim to record objectionable photos and videos. The young woman filed a complaint with the court onAugust 13 last year, making these allegations against Nobel.
Nobel had previously been arrested in connection with the same case. The court later assigned the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to conduct a detailed inquiry. PBI Sub-Inspector Nuruzzaman submitted the investigation report to the court on February 2.
On the same day, the court issued arrest warrants for four individuals, including Nobel, and directed Demra Police Station to apprehend them and present them before the court.
