Adilur Rahman Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, on Saturday said there is no cause for concern regarding the law and order situation on the day of voting.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after inspecting the Sylhet Central Bus Terminal on Saturday afternoon.
Expressing confidence in the electoral process, the adviser said the upcoming election will be held in a festive atmosphere.
He described the most notable feature of the election as a “people’s vote,” highlighting broad public participation.
Adilur Rahman Khan also stressed the importance of securing a “yes vote” for the July Charter, which he said was written in the blood of students and ordinary citizens.
He added that the Election Commission has taken necessary measures to ensure a level playing field for all candidates in the election.
Earlier, the adviser visited different sections of the Sylhet bus terminal. Senior administrative officials, including the Sylhet Divisional Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner, and other top officials, were present during the visit.
