National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders have held a meeting with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister A. Berris Ekinci to discuss the overall political situation in Bangladesh. The meeting took place at the Turkish Embassy in Dhaka at 7pm on Monday in a cordial atmosphere.
NCP Convener Nahid Islam led the six-member delegation in the meeting. He hoped that the bilateral relations between the two countries would grow stronger in the coming days.
Other delegates include Alauddin Mohammad, Sultan Mohammad Zakaria, Monira Sharmin, Nilima Dola, and Dr Atik Mujahid.
During the discussion, they discussed the government’s preparations for holding a free and fair general election, as well as ongoing reform initiatives, particularly constitutional reforms.
They also discussed the formation of a Bangladesh-Turkiye Joint Economic Commission, strengthening bilateral cooperation, repatriation of Rohingyas, and the country’s overall progress.
