Nani has responded to the mixed reaction to his latest film The Paradise, saying he has “equally enjoyed” both the love and trolling the film has received since its release. He also said he has learnt from the flaws highlighted by critics and reviewers.
According to Hindustan Times, Srikanth Odela and Nani’s second film together hit theatres on Thursday after paid premieres on Wednesday. The film delivered Nani’s biggest opening yet but also drew criticism from audiences and critics.
In a note posted on X, formerly Twitter, Nani said he had seen the responses to the film and appreciated them all. “I have seen all your reactions and responses. I’ve received all your love and equally enjoyed your hilarious trolls. I’m heartwarmed by the way audience have owned the film, and also learnt from the flaws that critics and reviewers have pointed out,” he wrote.
Thanking audiences for their feedback, Nani said the team made The Paradise with a lot of “blood and sweat” to offer a unique experience. He added that the film was now theirs to celebrate or judge.
His response surprised some social media users, who felt he had addressed the criticism too soon, with the film still in its second day and the weekend ahead. One user wrote that the post should have “waited” until Sunday, while another said Nani’s response was graceful but could put the producers in a difficult position.
Some users also tagged Yash and questioned his silence after Toxic. One comment asked why Yash had not posted a similar message when that film faced what the user described as both forced negativity and genuine criticism.
Others praised Nani for acknowledging that The Paradise may not have worked as intended instead of focusing only on its strong opening. One fan encouraged him to make a strong comeback, while others asked him to return to family-friendly films such as Hi Nanna, Ante Sundaraniki and Gang Leader.
Another user urged Nani to question a director when a scene does not make sense, beginning with the opening scene.
