For the first time in over three decades of marriage, singer Sujit Mustafa and dancer Munmun Ahmed will appear as co-performers on stage.
Scheduled to be held on May 15 at InterContinental Dhaka, the programme, titled ‘An Evening of Music and Dance’, is being organised by the Artist Club, organisers said.
Married since 1993, the couple have built parallel careers in their respective fields but have never appeared together as co-performers. Both artists have been active in their respective disciplines for over five decades.
Speaking about the event, Munmun Ahmed said that audiences at previous Artist Club events often expressed a desire to see her dance performed alongside Sujit Mustafa’s songs on the same stage.
“Sujit is an exceptionally talented artist. Performing with him on stage is certainly a challenge, but also entertaining and inspiring,” she added.
The two-hour programme will feature Sujit Mustafa performing for around one and a half hours. His set will include original compositions, popular songs, and works written by his father, Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal.
A special segment will present two joint performances, where Sujit Mustafa will sing while Munmun Ahmed performs dance on stage simultaneously. The programme will also include a solo performance by Munmun Ahmed.
According to organisers, tickets for this special event are priced at Tk 5,000.
