Marvel is developing a new live-action series titled Zodiac, a spy thriller reportedly planned for release in 2028.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series has received the green light as Marvel Television continues to develop new projects for Disney+.
The title may refer to Zodiac, a criminal organisation in Marvel Comics led by the villain Scorpio. Its members take their identities from the signs of the zodiac and have frequently clashed with the espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D.
However, details about the series’ plot, cast and creative team remain under wraps. Marvel has not confirmed whether the show will follow the comic book organisation or introduce a new interpretation of the name.
The project comes as Marvel Television scales back its output for Disney+, focusing on a smaller number of live-action series.
Marvel’s upcoming television projects include VisionQuest, which will continue the story of WandaVision, and the third season of Daredevil: Born Again.
