Singer, presenter and social worker Dithi Anwar has returned to Bangladesh after spending more than six weeks in the United States and is now busy with film certification duties and new musical releases.

On her way home, Dithi spent several days in Dubai, where she performed at an event organised by a Bangladeshi association as a special guest. She also received a special honour at the programme.

Back in Bangladesh, she has resumed her duties as a member of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board, reviewing local films, documentaries and foreign productions, including English- and Chinese-language films. She is also continuing her involvement in social activities.

Alongside these commitments, Dithi is actively developing her YouTube channel, Dithi Anwar, where she regularly releases original songs and covers.

Her recent releases include Ekta Tajmahal Banaiya, Dere Dere Prem Dere, Akashke Proshno Koro, Ghorir Kanta and Emni Korei Ekdin.

Her duet partner on the songs is Apu Aman, while the lyrics for all the tracks were written by her late father, celebrated lyricist Gazi Mazharul Anwar.

The latest release, Emni Korei Ekdin, was originally sung by Abida Sultana for the film Nishana. Dithi appears in its music video alongside her husband, Arif Chowdhury, a director of Pubali Bank.

On the first day of Mahalaya, she also released a devotional song through fashion house Bishwarang’s YouTube initiative.

Originally featured in the film Chandidas O Rajokini, the song was written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and composed by Alauddin Ali. Tanvir Alam Sajib arranged the new version.

Dithi said she finds joy in staying busy, balancing her work in Bangladesh with time abroad to support her two sons’ education.

“Whenever I am in the country, my days are packed with activities. On my way back, I attended an event in Dubai and tried to entertain everyone through music. After returning, I resumed my work with the Film Certification Board while also releasing new songs,” she said.

She added that she hopes to develop her YouTube channel into a valuable archive that people can consult as a reference in the future.
