YouTube sensation MrBeast has married his fiancée Thea Booysen in a private ceremony on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, according to US media reports.
The 28-year-old content creator, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, shared the news on Instagram, announcing that he had “found MrsBeast”. The post featured pictures of the couple dressed in white on their wedding day.
MrBeast is the world’s biggest YouTuber, with more than 500 million subscribers. He proposed to Booysen on Christmas Day 2024 while the pair wore matching MrBeast-themed festive jumpers.
Despite being famous for extravagant online challenges and huge public stunts, Donaldson previously told People magazine that he wanted a “really private and intimate” proposal and a small wedding.
In the wedding photos, Booysen wore a floor-length lace gown with a floral design, while Donaldson chose a white tuxedo. Booysen later changed outfits during the celebrations, including a white mini dress with a sparkling bodice and feathered skirt for the cake-cutting ceremony, followed by an off-the-shoulder satin dress for the evening.
Calling it “the best day of my life”, Donaldson shared his joy with fans online.
MrBeast built his global popularity through viral videos, extreme challenges and large-scale giveaways, often handing out huge amounts of money to strangers. His online success later expanded into business ventures, including the Prime Video reality competition series Beast Games, inspired by Netflix’s Squid Game.
The show follows contestants competing in a series of challenges for a $5 million prize.
Booysen, originally from South Africa, is also a content creator. Her YouTube channel, TheaBeasty, has nearly 140,000 subscribers. She also streams games on Twitch and is a published author.
However, Donaldson’s success has also brought controversy. In April, his media company Beast Industries faced a lawsuit from a former employee over allegations of sexual harassment and workplace gender bias.
He has also faced legal action from Beast Games contestants over claims about their treatment during production. Some critics have also questioned whether his viral giveaways and competitions are staged or pre-planned.
Despite the controversies, MrBeast remains one of the most influential figures in online entertainment, with his personal milestone marking another major chapter in his public journey.
