Popular television actress Mousumi Hamid and her husband, writer and playwright Abu Sayeed Rana, have officially ended their marriage, sources confirm. The pair, who tied the knot in a family ceremony on January 12, 2024, had been living apart since November last year.
Reports suggest the split followed allegations of Rana’s extramarital involvement with a colleague, identified as Nusrat Tuba, with whom he reportedly works at a construction firm. Screenshots circulating on social media allegedly show private exchanges between Rana and Tuba, fuelling speculation about the breakdown of the marriage.
In a brief statement to the press, Mousumi acknowledged the separation. “What you’ve heard is correct. I am not in a state to discuss the details at the moment,” she said.
Friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry who attended their wedding expressed shock at the news, noting that the couple had appeared happy at the time.
