In their second Women’s ODI of the ICC Women’s World Cup, Bangladesh reached 178 all out in 49.4 overs against England at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. Sobhana Mostary anchored the innings with a composed fifty, while Rabeya Khan’s late flourish added crucial runs at the end.
England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt elected to field after winning the toss. Bangladesh started positively, reaching 21 in three overs, with openers Rubya Haider and Sharmin Akhter Supta putting on 24. Haider fell for 4 from 9 balls, and captain Nigar Sultana was dismissed for a duck in the next over, leaving Bangladesh under early pressure.
Sharmin Akhter Supta stabilised briefly, scoring 30 off 52 deliveries before falling at 59. Mostary then took charge, batting patiently and posting a vital 60 from 108 balls. In an eighth-wicket partnership, Rabeya Khan joined Mostary and attacked the bowling, finishing unbeaten on 43 from 27 balls to take Bangladesh to 178.
For England, Sophie Ecclestone was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets.
