The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has resulted in the cancellation of 28 more flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, bringing the total number of cancelled flights in the past 17 days to 528.

Kawsar Mahmud, an official from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), confirmed the latest cancellations on Monday.

The disruptions began on 28 February, when airspace over several Middle Eastern countries, including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan, was closed due to escalating security concerns in the region.

The situation remains unresolved, and authorities have warned that the cancellations may continue unless conditions improve.

On Monday, flights operated by several international airlines were affected.

Kuwait Airways had two flights cancelled, while Air Arabia, operating from Sharjah in the UAE, saw eight cancellations. Gulf Air, based in Bahrain, cancelled two flights, and Qatar Airways had four of its flights affected. Additionally, Emirates Airlines and Flydubai, both from the UAE, saw two and four flights cancelled, respectively. Jazeera Airways, also from Kuwait, had four flights impacted, and US-Bangla Airlines from Bangladesh cancelled two of its flights.
