MetLife Bangladesh has settled Tk1,384 crore in claims during the first six months of 2026, spanning the period from January to June, the company said in a press release.
This significant disbursement includes insurance benefits as well as claims for medical needs and loss of life.
MetLife Chief Executive Officer Ala Ahmad said the amount settled during this period reflects a “strong commitment” to supporting customers and their families in their times of need.
He further noted that by continuously enhancing the claims process to be “faster, simpler, and more transparent,” MetLife aims to strengthen customer confidence and build greater trust within the insurance sector of Bangladesh.
This performance follows a consistent track record of timely settlements for the insurer. In 2025, MetLife Bangladesh settled Tk2,895 crore in claims, the highest amount among all life insurance companies in the country.
During that year, the company maintained a claims settlement ratio of 98 per cent, which remains one of the highest in the industry.
MetLife Bangladesh currently serves approximately 1 million individual customers and over 900 corporate clients. To facilitate an efficient experience, customers can submit claim requests online and typically receive their funds within three to five working days.
The company’s proactive approach to settlement has been credited with enhancing both customer satisfaction and general trust in the national insurance sector.
