MetLife Bangladesh has installed a 104-kilowatt on-grid solar power system at its head office in Motijheel, allowing the insurer to generate up to 10 per cent of its electricity demand from renewable energy sources.

The rooftop solar project is part of the company’s broader effort to improve energy efficiency and strengthen sustainable business operations, MetLife Bangladesh said in a press release issued on Tuesday.

The solar system was installed at the insurer’s historic head office, where the company has been operating for more than 74 years.

“By generating up to 10 per cent of our energy needs through solar power at our historic head office, we are demonstrating that progress and preservation can go hand in hand,” Ala Ahmad said.
