Popular actress Mehazabien Chowdhury has claimed that she is being deliberately “targeted” by a certain quarter in a planned attempt to malign her reputation.

In a statement posted to her verified Facebook page on Sunday, the actress expressed her grievances regarding recent harassment.

“For some time now, I have noticed that I am being targeted on various issues,” she wrote. She reminded her followers that she was recently subjected to a false legal case, from which the court eventually acquitted her, stating that “truth has been established.”

Mehazabien noted that these new attempts to defame her have emerged just as she has refocused on her professional commitments.

She also highlighted a growing concern regarding the misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI), stating that AI-generated images and videos are causing “embarrassing situations” for many artists, which she described as “totally unacceptable.”

“Women are becoming easy targets these days,” she remarked, adding that she remains unaware of who is specifically behind these coordinated efforts.

The actress’s comments come in the wake of several recent controversies that have drawn mixed reactions from the public.

A few months ago, she faced legal complications involving allegations of embezzling Tk27 lakh, alongside claims of threats and intimidation related to a family business partnership. She was subsequently cleared of these charges by the court.

An unverified report recently circulated claiming that Mehazabien and her husband were detained with liquor bottles at the airport on 17 August upon their return from Bangkok. Her recent public stance appears to be a direct response to these ongoing rumours and allegations.

Mehazabien concluded her statement by asserting her desire to move forward. “I only want to focus on my work; I want the discussion to be about my professional output. I hope you will all stand by me,” she stated.
