Anurag Kashyap’s addition to Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Telugu action thriller ‘Kaaka’ has added another layer of mystery to the film, with the makers keeping his character under wraps, states Hindustan Times.
Director Bobby Kolli announced Kashyap’s casting on 5 October with a behind-the-scenes photograph from the Hyderabad sets. He described the filmmaker-actor’s part as “powerful” and “pivotal”, but did not reveal whether he plays the antagonist.
Fans have since begun speculating that Kashyap could be the film’s main villain.
‘Kaaka’ marks Chiranjeevi and Kolli’s reunion after ‘Waltair Veerayya’. Chiranjeevi plays K Satyam, an aquaculture factory supervisor whose ordinary life appears to hide a violent past.
The film’s title glimpse showed weapons emerging alongside a set of keys, followed by a younger and more action-oriented version of the actor.
Anaswara Rajan plays Ammulu Paapa, introduced as the “Heart of Kaaka”, while Nivetha Pethuraj, Sunil and Getup Srinu also feature.
Produced by KVN Productions, ‘Kaaka’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 13 January 2027 during the Sankranthi season.
