An unidentified man was killed after being hit by a train in the Kuril Bishwaroad area of Dhaka.
The incident occurred around 9:15am on Monday morning. Bystanders rushed the injured man, aged around 30, to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 11am.
According to eyewitness Md Kayes Ali, he noticed a crowd near the railway line behind the BRTC bus counter.
“When I went closer, I saw the man lying in a pool of blood next to the tracks. It was clear he had been hit by a train,” he said.
He and several others first took the victim to a local hospital before transferring him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. No one on the scene could identify the man.
Faruk, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, confirmed the death, adding that the body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem examination.
