BRAC Bank has partnered with Medbox Solution Limited to extend its digital SME lending programme ‘Shafollo’ to Medbox’s affiliated pharmacies, aiming to bring formal financing to a largely underserved segment of the pharmaceutical business ecosystem.
Medbox Solution Limited is an integrated B2B medicine distribution chain solution in Bangladesh, according to a press release.
Under the partnership, affiliated pharmacies will be able to access instant working capital from BRAC Bank through Shafollo, the country’s first instant digital loan for SMEs, via the bank’s Shubidha App.
The fully digital process eliminates paperwork and lengthy approval procedures, ensuring faster and hassle-free access to finance.
The initiative is designed to address the financing challenges faced by small pharmacy businesses by supporting improved inventory management, smoother day-to-day operations and sustainable growth, while strengthening the pharmaceutical supply chain at the grassroots level.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Dhaka on December 22, 2025, by Syed Abdul Momen, additional managing director and head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, and Kazi Ashikur Rasul, managing director of Medbox Solution Limited, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Commenting on the partnership, Syed Abdul Momen said that through Shafollo, BRAC Bank is redefining SME financing by enabling instant digital access to formal credit.
He added that the partnership extends the country’s first SME digital loan to pharmacy entrepreneurs, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion through innovation.
Kazi Ashikur Rasul said the collaboration would enable affiliated pharmacies to access timely working capital, supporting operational efficiency, improved stock management and long-term business growth.
The partnership underscores BRAC Bank’s continued focus on digital innovation and inclusive banking, leveraging technology to expand access to finance and create measurable impact across essential business sectors.
