In a one-day span, the country’s overall temperature rose by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius on Monday. The lowest temperature was recorded in Tetulia, Panchagarh, at 8.4 degrees Celsius. Tetulia also recorded the nation’s lowest temperature on Sunday at 7.3 degrees Celsius.
This marks the fifth consecutive day that this area has registered the country’s lowest temperature. The number of districts affected by the cold wave has decreased to 8 degrees Celsius on Monday, down from 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
The cold wave is currently sweeping across Rajshahi, Pabna, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Jashore, Kushtia, and Chuadanga.
Last Thursday, 24 districts were under the cold wave, which fell to 20 on Friday. On Saturday, Tetulia recorded the lowest temperature at 6.8 degrees Celsius.
In Dhaka, the minimum temperature was 15 degrees Celsius on Monday, slightly higher than Sunday’s 14.6 degrees Celsius. The widening gap between the city’s maximum and minimum temperatures is contributing to the rise in overall temperature.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly the same on Tuesday, although a slight drop may occur in the Chattogram division.
