Three motorcyclists were killed and at least six others injured in a three-way collision involving two motorcycles and a nasimon in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat on Saturday night.

The accident occurred in front of Dona Government Primary School.

The deceased were identified as Limon Molla, 24, son of Babul Molla of Kalikabari area, Md Amin Khan, 23, son of Nazrul Islam of Dona village, and Soheb, 16, son of Jamal Master of the same village.

Acting Upazila Health Officer Md Sifat Khan said nine people injured in the road crash were brought to the hospital in the evening.

Three of them were declared dead on arrival.

Of the injured, four were released after receiving primary treatment, while two others were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

Morelganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahidul Islam said the collision involved two motorcycles and a nasimon carrying coconuts.

He said relatives of the deceased had been informed and the bodies would be handed over to their families after completion of legal procedures.
