Bangladesh on Wednesday launched a digital platform to track climate projects, manage investment pipelines and coordinate financing.

The Bangladesh Climate Development Partnership (BCDP) web portal was unveiled at the opening of the two-day BCDP Knowledge Conference 2026 in Dhaka, attended by more than 500 policymakers, development partners, private-sector executives and civil-society representatives.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change organised the conference with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to accelerate implementation of the National Adaptation Plan 2023-2050 and investment frameworks under Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) 3.0.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo said the challenge was to turn national climate policies into coordinated programmes, quality projects, financing and measurable outcomes.

The BCDP, established in 2024, is intended to serve as a national platform for climate-finance mobilisation, resource allocation and policy alignment.

Mintoo said adaptation projects often deliver social benefits without conventional commercial returns, requiring financing suited to Bangladesh’s fiscal conditions.

He also called for greater private-sector participation in clean energy, attention to loss and damage and inclusion of women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalised communities.

ADB Executive Director Satya Srinivas Lolla said implementation would require public and private investment, technical expertise, institutional capacity and partnerships as Bangladesh moves out of least-developed-country status while remaining climate-vulnerable.

The conference is focusing on energy transition, sustainable transport, water-resource management and climate-resilient agriculture.

Wednesday’s sessions covered low-carbon growth, the National Adaptation Plan and financing mechanisms for NDC 3.0.

The conference will conclude on Thursday with sessions on de-risking climate investments, building project pipelines and developing public-private financing structures.
