India on Thursday strongly condemned the recent spate of attacks targeting key civilian airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that killed civilians and injured several others.

In an official statement issued from New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs condemned the strikes carried out over the past few days against Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Describing the attacks as “completely unacceptable”, New Delhi said the deliberate targeting of vital civilian infrastructure violated fundamental humanitarian principles.

The Indian government expressed its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives in the attacks and wished the injured a swift and complete recovery.

Reiterating its support for Saudi Arabia, the statement said India stands in firm solidarity with the people and government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amid the escalating regional security challenges.
