Lizol, a disinfectant floor and surface cleaner brand of Reckitt Bangladesh, has launched its annual mosque cleaning campaign titled ‘Porichchonnatay Pobitrota’ during Ramadan, conducting special drives in more than 100 mosques nationwide and pledging cleaning supplies for a year to each participating mosque.

Reckitt Bangladesh, the local subsidiary of UK-based consumer health and hygiene group Reckitt, said in a press release on Thursday that the initiative is being held for the third consecutive year.

The month-long campaign was inaugurated at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and aims to ensure a hygienic environment for worshippers during the holy month, when mosque attendance increases significantly.

While many mosques in Dhaka are carpeted, numerous mosques outside the capital still offer prayers on bare floors, prompting the company to focus on broader hygiene support, the release said.

Under the campaign, Lizol’s team members and volunteers carried out cleaning drives and distributed floor cleaning solutions sufficient for one year to each mosque, along with Ramadan calendar boards and hygiene kit boxes.

Reckitt Bangladesh Head of Marketing Sabrin Maruf Tinni said a clean environment enhances worshippers’ comfort and concentration during Ramadan and added that the company would continue such initiatives to create a positive social impact.
