Md Liakat Ali Mollah has been officially appointed as the Secretary of the Law and Justice Division under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
A notification issued by the ministry confirmed the appointment made in consultation with the Supreme Court of Bangladesh on Monday. Prior to his promotion, Liakat Ali served as the acting secretary of the division. He was elevated from the post of additional secretary to secretary.
On 25 August, former Secretary of the division Sheikh Abu Taher (Senior District and Sessions Judge) was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court.
Liakat Ali was given the role of acting secretary on 28 August. He previously served as a District and Sessions Judge and also held the position of Chairman of the Minimum Wages Board.
