The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has launched its first month-long cybersecurity awareness campaign to help stockbrokers and employees identify online fraud, suspicious emails and malicious links as trading activities become increasingly dependent on digital systems.
The programme, running throughout October to mark Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026, aims to promote safe digital practices and strengthen accountability for cybersecurity among DSE employees and trading right entitlement certificate (TREC) holders, the exchange said in a statement on Sunday, the premier bourse said in a press release.
As part of the campaign, the DSE is conducting online cybersecurity training for TREC holders through Zoom, dividing participants into separate groups for practical sessions on identifying and responding to potential cyber threats.
The exchange has also organised an online quiz competition to assess participants’ cybersecurity knowledge and awareness. Winners will be selected based on their responses.
TREC holders demonstrating strong performance in cybersecurity awareness activities will receive recognition and certificates at the DSE’s regular Meet and Greet events.
For its employees, the exchange has introduced cybersecurity awareness wallpapers on office computers and displayed banners and other educational materials across its premises.
The activities are designed to improve participants’ ability to recognise suspicious emails, harmful links and other potential online security threats.
DSE’s Information Security Services (ISS) department is responsible for planning the campaign, preparing awareness materials and conducting training sessions and quizzes.
The IT Infrastructure, Network, Public Relations and Publications departments, along with the Office of the Managing Director, will provide support as required.
The exchange said technological safeguards alone were insufficient to protect increasingly technology-dependent capital market operations, emphasising the importance of awareness and responsible behaviour among employees and market participants.
It expects the campaign to strengthen cybersecurity practices across the exchange and its stakeholders, helping build a safer and more reliable technology-driven capital market.
