Kazi Food Industries Limited has withdrawn a specific batch of its Bellissimo Rotondo ice cream from the market after the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) identified that the product contained Milk Solids-Not-Fat (MSNF) above the prescribed standard, the company said in a press release.
The company said the issue relates to regulatory compliance and not to any harmful substances or microorganisms, following concerns raised in recent media reports. The affected product batch, Bellissimo Rotondo Batch No: 26050101A, is currently being withdrawn while the company conducts further testing.
Kazi Food said MSNF represents the essential nutritional components of milk, including proteins, lactose, minerals and vitamins. It added that a higher MSNF level is not harmful to human health and instead reflects the nutritional elements of milk.
“We have already applied for a retest on July 2, 2026. The retest process is currently underway on the advice of BSTI,” the company said in a press release.
As part of its commitment to consumers, Kazi Food said all products from the relevant batch are being removed from the market. The company said it plans to reintroduce the product after completing necessary quality improvements, re-verification and meeting all BSTI requirements.
