Karmasangsthan Bank held its 2026 business review meeting at Rainbow Guest House in Sylhet as part of a 90-day special programme, bringing together all regional managers, branch managers, and second-tier officers under the divisional office, the bank said. The session aimed to evaluate branch performance, discuss loan disbursement, and strengthen operational efficiency.
AFM Matiur Rahman, chairman of the board of directors and former secretary, attended as chief guest. Special guests included Managing Director Arun Kumar Chowdhury and General Manager Md Amirul Islam. The session was chaired by Deputy General Manager of the Sylhet divisional office Khaled Mohammed Jahangir, with Manoj Roy, Deputy General Manager of the Legal, Research and Development Department of the head office, also in attendance.
The chief guest emphasised the importance of quality loan disbursement and the creation of sustainable entrepreneurs and called for improved performance across all business indicators of branches under the Sylhet divisional office through coordinated efforts, responsibility, and sincerity, the bank said in a press statement.
The Managing Director underlined the need to increase loan recovery rates, expand loan disbursement, and strengthen the collection of classified, defaulted, and written-off loans to ensure the programme’s successful implementation. He urged staff to work professionally and responsibly to achieve 100 per cent of the targets set by the head office.
The meeting reflects Employment Bank’s ongoing efforts to enhance branch-level performance, reinforce operational accountability, and promote professional practices across its Sylhet divisional operations, officials said.
