Sammilito Islami Bank PLC held the first meeting of its Audit Committee on 29 September 2026 at the bank’s head office, with committee members Asma Akhter FCA and Mohammed Ahsan Habib Chowdhury FCA attending the session.
Md Monirul Islam, Company Secretary (CC), along with heads of the Internal Control & Compliance Division of five verticals — EXIM Bank, Social Islami Bank, First Security Islami Bank, Global Islami Bank and Union Bank — were also present at the meeting, according to a press release.
The meeting provided directives to the bank management to ensure compliance with relevant acts, rules and regulations in banking operations, the bank said in a press release.
The Audit Committee is responsible for reviewing compliance-related matters and supporting governance practices at the state-owned Shariah-based bank.
