Symbols have been allocated among eight candidates contesting for two seats in Joypurhat.

District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md Al Mamun Miah handed over the allocated symbols to the candidates at the Joypurhat District Collectorate Conference Room on Wednesday.

Prior to the distribution, he highlighted the rules of the electoral code of conduct and urged the candidates and relevant stakeholders to strictly adhere to them.

Also present at the event were Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahbub-un-Nabi, Additional District Commissioner Bipul Kumar, Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Uttam Kumar Roy, and District Election Officer Mahmud Hasan.

In the Joypurhat-1 constituency, a total of five candidates are contesting, representing the BNP, Jamaat, BSD, BSD (Marxist), and an independent candidate.

Meanwhile, in Joypurhat-2, three candidates from the BNP, Jamaat, and Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party are competing for the seat.
