United Finance PLC has secured refinancing support from Bangladesh Bank to provide concessional financing for information and communication technology (ICT) businesses and green industrial projects, according to a press release.
The non-bank financial institution signed agreements with the central bank under the Refinance Scheme for the Development of the ICT Sector and the Refinance Scheme for Green Factory Building and Green Industry, according to a company statement.
Mohammed Abul Ahsan, acting managing director of the non-bank financial institution, and A K M Nurunnabi, director of the Sustainable Finance Department at Bangladesh Bank, signed the agreements on behalf of their respective organisations at a ceremony held at the central bank.
Under the agreements, United Finance will extend financing at concessional terms to entrepreneurs in the ICT sector and industries investing in green factory buildings and environmentally sustainable production.
The move comes as Bangladesh Bank continues to expand refinancing support for technology-driven businesses and sustainable industrial development.
Senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and United Finance attended the signing ceremony.
